Xiaomi presented Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition, an unconventional smart television that stands out for having a transparent panel that gives it a unique appearance, thanks to that floating image effect that is only possible with this type of panel.

  • Google Photos begins to reach Android TV in its ambient mode
  • Apple seeks to buy original content for Podcasts and promote Apple TV+
  • How to add Netflix and use it on Plex?

Xiaomi has us used to launching products that are weighing their value for money, but as you may have imagined, the  Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition completely breaks that trend. This is a premium high-end TV in the broadest sense of the word, as it applies both to its design and to the quality of materials and, obviously, to its performance as well.

The Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition has a size of 55 inches, and we know that it uses a transparent OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, thanks to MEMC technology (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation). Its response time is 1 ms, but we are not sure what resolution it is capable of offering. A priori the most normal would be 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, but Xiaomi has not specified this information. It is curious, because, however, the Chinese company has provided other important details, such as the color spectrum (it reproduces 93% of the DCI-P3 spectrum) and the support of Dolby Atmos.

This television is just 5.7 mm thick, has very contained edges, as we can see in the images, and is mounted on a large circular base. Its heart is formed by a MediaTek 9659 SoC, a fairly powerful chip that has a Mali-G52 MC1 GPU. Memory and storage configurations have not been revealed, but expect a minimum of 3GB and 32GB total, respectively.

Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition: availability and price

The Chinese company has not specified when the Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition will be available, nor has it said if it plans to launch other versions with a larger (or smaller) screen size, so for now we can only wait.

In any case, if you decide to launch smaller versions, we can expect a more affordable price, while those possible variants with a larger screen size would obviously be much more expensive.

The price of the Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition 55-inch will be around 7,195 USD, a very high figure.
