Samsung has officially presented the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in Unpacked online event, its new foldable phone, which introduces a series of improvements compared to last year’s Fold model.
Samsung has left us with several products in its Unpacked, such as the Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra, the Galaxy Watch 3, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 +and the Buds Live headphones. A few weeks ago, the brand confirmed that they were going to present five new devices at this event, so there was doubt as to whether one of the devices was going to be the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the brand’s new foldable phone.

- Samsung Galaxy Buds Live: The new true wireless headphones with active noise cancellation
Samsung has finally made Galaxy Z Fold 2 official. This model is the first of the brand’s next generation of folding phones, introducing a number of improvements and innovations over the brand’s previous generation. A phone that offers a unique experience of folding devices.
Samsung redesigns its foldable phone
Yesterday the first official photos of the phone were leaked, which left us wondering if this model was going to be announced today. Samsung has left us with this presentation of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, a phone that combines the handling and flexibility of a smartphone, with the power and screen size of tablets. Therefore, it is presented as an ideal device for productivity, but giving a luxurious experience at all times.
The phone features two end-to-end Infinity-O displays, with hardly any frames. The screen on the phone cover is 6.2-inches in size, while the main screen is 7.6-inches. Two large panels, comfortable to use and that give us many possibilities.
In addition, they are larger than those of the previous generation of the phone, taking better advantage of the surface thanks to the absence of frames, betting on a small perforation instead.
For the cameras, it has opted for three rear cameras for the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The main sensor is 64MP, along with a 12MP telephoto lens, a 16MP wide angle and two front cameras. One of these front cameras is inserted on the outside panel, and the other is on the inside panel. Both cameras are the same, 10MP.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a phone that promises to deliver on performance. It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ as its processor, so we are going to have 5G connectivity in it. The battery has a capacity of 4,356mAh, which will give us a good autonomy, and it also has support for fast charging of 15W, wireless charging of 15W and reverse wireless charging of 9W. The fingerprint reader is located on one of its sides, thus following in the footsteps of last year’s Fold.
