An impressive panel awaits
Whereas in the Tab S6 the panel was 10.5-inches, this new generation bets on a slightly more horizontal and thicker version at the cost of moving half an inch more to the standard model . The ambitious Tab S7+ goes up to 12.4-inches, a notable increase that is reinforced by its panel technology.
And is that Samsung reserves the AMOLED for the Plus version, leaving the IPS LCD for the standard. This differentiation is not seen in other technologies implemented on its screens, such as HDR10+ mode and the landing of the “fashionable” refresh rate among the most premium smartphones in the tablet format: both reach the refresh rate of 120Hz.
These two novelties presume a proposal of the most ambitious in entertainment such as gaming or content consumption, which is intuited that it can take a toll on the battery. To reinforce this audiovisual experience, we again found four stereo speakers with AKG and Dolby Atmos technology.
Specs to the top
Samsung is still betting on Qualcomm’s most ambitious processors for its best tablets in a renovation in which the Snapdragon 855 of the previous generation is switched to the Snapdragon 865+ and the options of 6 and 8GB of RAM. As for the storage space, again the options of 128GB and 256GB expandable by microSDXC card up to 1TB of capacity.
Under the hood there are no differences between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ in hardware, but there is in the battery, where you can see a good jump between one and the other . Thus, from the 7,040mAh of the Tab S6 now the Tab S7 rises to 8,000mAh and the large Tab S7+ exceeds 10,000mAh to compensate for those larger and more ambitious panels. In addition, both have fast charging at 45W through its USB Type-C 3.1 port, which can also be used to extract video and audio with an adapter to Display Port (not included).
Both in one and the other we will find Android 10 by default along with the One UI 2 of Samsung, with their respective services, own applications, functions to squeeze the S-Pen and the potential of these tablets, such as the case of using it as a second screen or Samsung DeX, which emulates the experience of a computer, something essential in some tablets that are postulated by features and price for professional use. Among its own apps, the Korean company wanted to highlight Samsung Notes, which allows you to capture, view and edit ideas automatically on a tablet, phone or PC.
Samsung has chosen to maintain the photographic proposal of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 in this generation, thus finding us in both models with two rear cameras with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle main camera and f / 2.0 aperture accompanied by 5MP wide-angle with aperture f / 2.2. For selfies, an 8MP front sensor and f / 2.0 focal aperture.
Although both tablets have a fingerprint reader, while in the standard model we find it integrated on the side, for the Tab S7+ model it is located under the screen.
The new Tab S7 also take advantage of the functionality of the improved S Pen of the Note20, more precise, with a latency reduced to 9ms and the novelty of the gesture function, which would facilitate navigation in common tasks such as starting again, capturing screen, shoot the camera and of course, use it like a pencil. And to save it? They have a space in the back where to fix and store it.
