Call of Duty: Black Ops celebrates 10 years and sends a message to fans

Call of Duty: Black Ops is now 10 years old and the developers sent a message to its fans. Fans speculate on a series comeback.

Treyarch has posted through its official blog a retrospective video, accompanied by a message to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is one of the most popular subseries of the Activision license alongside Modern Warfare. The North American publisher, who has still not revealed her future plans despite the fact that 2020 may be the year of their return after Black Ops 4 (2018), has thanked the support of the fans.

#BlackOps10thAnniversary

The company, a subsidiary of Activision since 2001, said that they feel very proud of what has been achieved with the four episodes of this series (2010, 2012, 2015 and 2018). But this time they focus on the first Black Ops, which is the one that has a birthday. After World at War in 2008, the studio reached its climax of maturity with the adventure of Woods, Hudson, Mason… The series caught true commercial success that was heightened by the awakening of the youtuber phenomenon.

Along with the video that they have shared on their blog, they commented: “An aspect that cannot be overlooked is the fact that I would not be here today if we had not had your support during these ten years; the support of the best community a developer can hope for. So: THANK YOU!”

All in all, they encourage followers to use the #BlackOps10thAnniversary hashtag on Twitter to share videos and moments. They do not announce or anticipate the announcement of any new video game. In keeping with the pace of the saga for almost a decade, Infinity Ward, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games have been taking turns each year to allow each of its episodes to have three years of development.

This time, following that logic – which does not have to be this way in 2020 – it would be the turn of the protagonists today. However, at the moment we do not have information about the already confirmed Call of Duty 2020 .

Call of Duty 2020: what do we know about this year’s installment

The first thing that transpires from Activision’s latest financial report released this May is that the coronavirus is not going to prevent Call of Duty 2020 from coming out this year. “During the second half of this year, our planning includes a new Call of Duty and the release of two titles based on Activision’s extensive portfolio of intellectual property.” One of them is the return of Tony Hawk Pro Skater with 1 + 2 in the form of a remake. As for the new Call of Duty of 2020, in this article we discuss the only details confirmed for the moment.
